Juliet Asbery
Juliet is the plastic surgery practice nurse at the Wellington Plastic Surgery Institute, which she joined in 2006.
Juliet's role includes:
- assisting the surgeons in the local anaesthetic theatre
- assisting the surgeons at Wakefield Hospital for general anaesthetic procedures
- providing patients with nursing support before, during and after their procedures
- providing skin rejuvenation assessments and treatments
- education for patients.
Training, qualifications, and memberships
Juliet qualified as a registered nurse in the United Kingdom, where she also achieved a BA Honours degree.
She gained experience as a theatre nurse in the United Kingdom. After emigrating to New Zealand, she worked at Wakefield Hospital in Wellington as a theatre nurse before joining the Wellington Plastic Surgery Institute.
Juliet has recently undertaken postgraduate study to qualify as a Registered Nurse Surgical Assistant.
She has been trained in BOTOX® procedures by the surgeons in the practice and by Allergan, the worldwide suppliers. Juliet keeps up with the latest treatment techniques and procedures, attending advanced training courses.
She has also been trained in medical skin care assessments and treatments which are available at Wellington Plastic Surgery Institute.
Professional membership
Juliet is a member of the New Zealand Nurses Association (NZNA) and as a Surgical Assistant with the NZNA.
Outside working hours …
Juliet's interests include running, diving and off-road driving.
She is married with two children.
