advanced skin care
We offer various treatments for skin rejuvenation. These range from skin care using prescribed creams to resurfacing your skin by chemical peeling or dermabrasion.
Our treatments can be part of your regular skin maintenance. They can also be used to make significant improvements in its appearance, for example, enhancing the results of a facelift after an operation.
You should note that chemical peels and dermabrasion will not improve any marked looseness of your skin. They are not a substitute for procedures such as a facelift.
Skin care programmes
Our skin care programmes involve treatment with Vitamin A-based creams that we prescribe. They can be part of how you maintain your skin in good condition. We also combine these programmes with other skin treatments such as chemical peeling or dermabrasion to make them more effective.

Chemical peels and dermabrasion
How do chemical peels and dermabrasion work?
Chemical peeling and dermabrasion work by first damaging the surface layers of your skin. These then heal - much like a superficial burn - leaving your skin smoother and tighter.
Chemical peels involve applying chemicals to the skin. They are used to treat fine facial wrinkles and some acne scarring.
Dermabrasion involves applying friction to the skin. This treatment is often used for acne or scarring and for fine lines on the lips.
The results of both treatments are the same, but they also depend on how deeply the skin is treated. The deeper the treatment, the more effective it is. However, the healing time is also longer and there is a higher risk of complications.
With chemical peels, for example, the chemicals used can range from strong to relatively mild. "Fruit peels" using mild fruit acids can be part of your regular skin maintenance programme. They heal much faster, but the effect of their improvement is less than a deeper treatment.
Before the treatments
Before a chemical peel or dermabrasion, we recommend you undertake a skin care programme using Vitamin A-based creams that we prescribe. These will maximise the results and reduce the risk of complications.
The treatments
With chemical peels, we paint a chemical solution on your skin to make the surface layers blister.
With dermabrasion, we use a small abrasive drum to produce what looks like a gravel rash.
After the treatments
The treated area is initially red and smooth. This fades over many weeks to blend again with your skin tone.
Your surgeon will inform you fully at your consultation about what to expect.
The end result
The outcome for you from these treatments is to have smoother and tighter skin.
Risk of complications
Your surgeon will advise you fully at your consultation about any risk of complications with these procedures.
