When you see us about skin rejuvenation you will receive a facial skin assessment and advice on a personal skin regime to achieve visible results.

Whether it's Skincare products, Injectables or facial peels, Shelley will be there to walk you through your skin rejuvenation program.

Products:

Our range of products help address concerns including ageing, texture, pigmentation, rosacea, acne and problem or sensitive skin. The aim is to reduce the visible signs of ageing and improve the texture and overall health of your skin. Our main product range is Skinbetter Science. This is manufactured in the USA.

These products are only available through health practitioners. Skinbetter Science offers an uncomplicated approach to skincare. We will provide you with advice and monitor your progress.  We also stock a basic range of La Roche Posay for those on a tighter budget.

Sunblock:

One of the main causes of skin damage and premature ageing in New Zealand is caused by UV rays from the sun. We will provide you with sun protection advice as part of your consultation and stock a variety of sun protection in the La Roche Posay and Aspect Sun range.

Facial Peels:

Our advanced skin care options also include peels and dermabrasion. We are excited to offer a  range of peels in varying strengths  from those providing simple exfoliation, Masks,  Lactic, Salicylic & retinol,  to chemical peels only provided by the surgeons. Deep dermabrasion, performed by our surgeons, is also available for treatment of acne scarring. This is usually done under a general anaesthetic at a private hospital.

Facial peels with our cosmetic nurse start at $160.00 and can be discussed at your first consultation. If appropriate it could also go ahead at this consultation.  A stronger chemical peel or dermabrasion with a surgeon would require a separate surgeon consultation first.

Injectables:

Skin care rejuvenation can be combined with Botox® for wrinkles and Fillers to provide volume and achieve a natural, refreshed look.  This can be discussed at your first complimentary consultation and if appropriate it may go ahead at that consultation. Pricing for injectables will be discussed prior to going ahead.  We do offer Non-cosmetic injectables for  Hyperhidrosis and TMJ.

The Consultation

We recommend a consultation with a nurse about general skin rejuvenation. If the nurse feels you would benefit from a more aggressive regime then you will be referred on to one of our surgeons or a Dermatologist.

For serious concerns such as acne scarring, our surgeons would be more than happy to see you.

During your consultation your skin concerns will be discussed and a history taken. Your options will be discussed including a Vitamin A based regime, peel programmes and dermabrasion if appropriate.

Treatment

The Skin Better Science range is an Australian brand of clinical skincare formulated to include gold standard ingredients with proven anti-ageing qualities. Their approach, which we support, is clinical skincare without trauma and without harsh or harmful ingredients. The products are designed to be simple to use with effective results. The range includes multi-ingredient serums to target concerns.

If you would like a price list detailing our Skin Better Science range please contact our office on office@wpsi.co.nz and we will email to you.

We recommend starting with a prescription strength Vitamin A programme, applying a serum each evening, or as prescribed.

If you need a deep peel or dermabrasion performed by a surgeon you will have significant peeling with some blistering after your procedure. You will be offered local anaesthetic before the procedure for pain control. After these strong procedures you will need at least a week off work to recover.

Complications

During your consultation we will discuss the potential risks associated with Vitamin A programmes such as irritation and pigmentation. It is important to note that you may not use any Vitamin A products if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Ongoing sun protection is always recommended to prevent further skin damage. This is particularly important if you are using a Vitamin A serum as you will be at a higher risk of sun damage whilst using these products.

Results

Skin care regimes take time to see visible results.  Once you start a Vitamin A programme you will normally start to notice an improvement in the appearance and texture of your skin after 4-6 weeks.  We can then review your progress at a follow up appointment.

After 3-4 months we can review your programme to see if you would benefit from adding a Vitamin B or C product to your regime or if you need a higher strength Vitamin A serum to get the best results.

Costs

An initial skin consultation with our registered cosmetic injector nurse ( Shelley) is free of charge. Shelley can assess your need in conjunction with the outcome you are looking for.

She will advise on the correct products for your skin and can talk cosmetic injectables with you if you would like to go along that track. Shelley has been with us for 18 months and comes to us with a great background of experience in Skincare and Cosmetic injectables

Other products can be added in your own time. There is no pressure to use the entire range, just whatever you need and are comfortable with.
